Container handling volume at China''s ports fell 17 percent in February from a year earlier to 6.97 million TEUs, extending a double-digit fall in January, Xinhua reported.
The figure was also down 22.5 percent from January, when the volume was 8.99 million TEUs.
January''s volume of containers handled by ports nationwide fell 13.3 percent from the year-earlier period and 12 percent from December.
The container handling volume fell as China''s exports slowed. China''s export volume decreased 17.5 percent in January from a year earlier to $90.45 billion.
