2009/4/17
Dover strait ferry operators have started to resume normal services after French fishermen blockaded the ports of Calais, Boulogne and Dunkirk on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The industrial action ended at Calais and Dunkirk at 9pm on Wednesday, but continued in Boulogne today (16 April) while the fishermen discussed French Agriculture and Fisheries minister Michel Barnier''s offer of EUR4m (US$5.2m) in aid.
P&O, SeaFrance and Norfolkline all cleared the backlog in traffic and resumed a normal service on this morning .
LD Lines said it had cleared its backlog of traffic but added it was unsure when its services to Boulogne would resume as industrial action continued there.
