Sichuan box volume to reach two million TEU by 2012

SICHUAN province is to build a port complex which will become the largest container hub in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River. By 2012, the port complex''s box throughput will reach two million TEU, Xinhua reported.
By 2011, the aggregate throughput of Luzhou port, Yibin port and Leshan port will reach 1.5 million TEU.
The province is to invest CNY1.5 billion (US$219 million) on water transportation this year and raise its annual container capacity to 500,000 TEU.
